Music Monthly
Music documentaries & concert films
Music was my first love … and it will be my last.
Once a month we will be screening a music documentary or a concert film in collaboration with some of the best music retailers, music folk and arts organisations in Suffolk!
We are thrilled to be partnering with the following amazing people to make these music nights happen:
- Marcus Neal from Hex Records in Ipswich, Marcus is also responsible for live music at The Smokehouse and the man behind Ipswich Sound City.
- Amanda Caswell-Robinson from Whizzy Wallop – the Queen of Vinyl! Mandy has three vinyl outlets in Suffolk: Marlesford, Woodbridge and Saxmundham. She’s also the proud mum of local singing sensation, Caswell.
- Stephen Foster – Foz is surely known to everyone on the local music scene and is the longest serving presenter on BBC Radio Suffolk, and is a strong supporter of local bands and singer-songwriters.
- Old Jet Arts Centre – Old Jet is a unique Arts Centre on the ex-US Air Force Base at Bentwaters in Suffolk. It is home to painters, photographers, writers, clothing designers and musicians. Founded by Jesse Quin of the band, Keane.
Ipswich, and Suffolk in general, has a thriving music scene and sadly because of the recent pandemic it has meant live music has become more and more difficult to stage. We are keen for our music nights to help bridge that gap a little by allowing audiences to come and watch a classic music documentary or concert film up on the big screen and to go away with music ringing loudly in their ears!
If you are interested in partnering with us for these regular monthly music nights then please get in touch on info@ipswichfilmtheatre.co.uk.
