Cited by the British Film Institute as the greatest British film ever made, Carol Reed’s classic drama returns to cinema screens for its 70th anniversary. An American novelist travels to Allied-occupied Vienna to take on a job offered to him by an old friend and learns that he has died days before. Suspicious, he sets out to find the truth behind his friend's death.
Audiences will be treated to a pre-screening musical performance from Cornelia Mayer, a Viennese zither player, including insights into the genesis of the score and anecdotes about its composer Anton Karas, and a post-screening Q&A hosted by film critic and author Matthew Sweet featuring Angela Allen, one of the last remaining Third Man crew members, and fan of the film writer/director Hossein Amini.
